First Wednesday luncheon
On Wednesday, February 4, 2009, Andrea Lennon filled in as guest speaker at Ladies’ Lunch Break. “Matters of the Heart” provided the theme for the luncheon. The story of Mary and Martha as they coped with the sickness, death, and later resurrection of their brother Lazarus taught that Jesus cares about the matters going on inside His followers’ hearts.
Ladies’ Lunch Break, normally led by Marilyn Mathis, is held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. Lunch Break meets at Second Baptist Church. Women from the community are encouraged to attend. Cost is $5.00 at the door, and a wonderful meal, as well as an uplifting devotion is provided each month.
