Teeing up

Lori Quinn

Summer is finally here! Vacations, picnics, swimming, backyard BBQ’s, and long humid Arkansas days are just a few reasons we all love summertime...well, except for the humidity part. We have so many great summertime activities right here in our community this summer; so gather your family, round up some friends, and spend some time at one of our lakes, parks or special events.
On our cover: Christina Lecuyer’s natural ability and talent for golf lead her to Conway and UCA in 2003. Since that time, she has excelled in her game; now as a professional Christina travels all over the U.S. and Canada. Christina wants to be a good role model. She says “I want to be a good person who people look up to.” And that she is. Christina is driven, accomplished, and is truly beautiful inside and out. She made a special stop back home to Arkansas last month to “give back” to First Tee Girls Day Out camp. Thanks, Christina, for sharing your story with us. We can’t wait to see how far you will you go!
The ladies behind the St. Joseph Bazaar, Ty and Tori Miller serving up fitness at 24/7 Fitness, and Hiegel Supply as a maybe unexpected source of summer fun supplies and rental equipment are our feature stories this month.
We are excited about a new column this month, our Book Club column by Susan O’Keefe. This will become a regular column in the magazine. This month’s book, “The Help” by Kathryn Stockett, gets rave reviews. Thanks, Susan, and we look forward to next month’s review.
Enjoy your summer!
