Place settings of attention

From a whimsical Christmas tree plate (above) to a rustic nativity scene (below), table decor ideas for this holiday season are limitless.

Gorgeous holiday centerpieces don’t always require a lot of time or expensive materials. Take inspiration from these beautiful arrangements that will wow your family and guests.
No time to deck the house for Christmas? No worries. Use basic holiday decorations and everyday items to get your home ready for company.
Place Setting Accessories
No holiday table is complete until all the accessories are in place. While having place settings is the start of your holiday table, adding the little accents can really bring your table theme together.
If you throw holiday parties frequently, it may be worth it to invest in a set of nice china, porcelain, or ceramic place settings. Not only will it save you money over the years, but help save the environment by creating less waste. Additionally, the table can be set even when you are not planning a dinner party, adding to the room’s Christmas décor.

The following items can be used to complete your Christmas table look:

• Tablecloths or runners
• Silverware
• Serving pieces
• Napkin rings
• Cloth napkins
Features
In each of the pictures shown are items that can be purchased at Rose Cottage, located at 1101 Oak Street, Downtown Conway. Pictured with a fun Snowman punch bowl are children’s books that help create height for this centerpiece. You will also find that a nativity scene is used, paired with Christmas dishes. Our winter blues centerpiece will also work well for a New Year’s Eve celebration.
Christmas Table Decorations
Having a variety of holiday decorations in the center of your table makes a great statement. Be sure to keep your theme in mind, whether it is green and silver, country Christmas, Old World, or winter blues. Your centerpiece(s) should reflect your theme but not interfere with conversation. Candles make excellent centerpieces; not only are they affordable, but they also add elegant mood lighting for evening dinners. Avoid scented candles so guests can enjoy the wonderful aroma of the meal they are about to eat.
Other table décor ideas include:
• Making Christmas tree toppers your centerpieces
• Gluing wrapping paper scraps together and laminating for kids’ table placements
• Place foil wrapped poinsettias along middle of the table
• Running garland and mistletoe down the center of the table
• Gathering silk flowers into mugs in holiday shapes

While having a great table scheme can really make a dining room come alive, remember the most important thing of all is the friends and family who come together to eat at the tale during the Christmas season.
