A homemade stock adds depth and body to soups and stews. The ingredients you choose should be supportive, not overwhelming. Yesterday’s or even last week’s vegetables are fine, as long as they are still healthy.
The beauty of stock ingredients is that the ideal ingredients are usually the trimmings from the soup you are about to make. Some examples are:
• leek roots and leaves
• end-of-the-head garlic cloves
• potato parings
• celery leaves
• parsley stems
• carrot roots
• lemon or lime shells

MSN.com defines R.S.V.P or r.s.v.p.–used to request reply: used on an invitation to request a response to it.
For those in the dark, it does not mean Refreshments Served Very Promptly. It does not mean throw the invitation in a pile and forget about it. It does not mean respond only if you’re not coming, or respond the day of the party, or respond and then fail to show up. And it most certainly does not mean show up with extra guests!
